Business in the Community exists to create healthy communities with successful business at their heart.
Business in the Community is the Prince’s Responsible Business Network. It was born out of a response the Toxteth and Brixton Riots in 1982, when business took the initiative to get involved in helping the communities around them. It came with the recognition that ‘healthy high streets need healthy backstreets’.
Over the years, Business in the Community has helped to establish the wider agenda for corporate responsibility. It has also helped its members realise the potential for competitive advantage and creating long-term shared value through being a responsible business.
Today Business in the Community’s has over half of the FTSE 100 as active members and reaches hundreds more through its campaigns, with over 350 business leaders taking active business roles driving our programmes.
The CSR360 Global Partner Network, convened by Business in the Community, is the largest global network of not-for-profit organisations championing Responsible Business. The growing network comprises over 120 independent organisations from 64 countries and reaches over 6,000 companies around the world.
